Say Goodbye To Beady Eye

As reported on Sky News Liam Gallagher announced on Twitter that his band, Beady Eye, are to split.

Formed by Liam in 2009 after the split of Oasis, Beady Eye was basically just Oasis without Noel Gallagher. I loved Oasis and they very much defined an era of my life.

However, I think they should have called it a day much sooner than they did as they did go out with a whimper rather than a bang.

Beady Eye’s first album was Different Gear, Still Speeding and the lead single from it was The Roller:

Liam kept the Oasis look and sound of trying to steal The Beatles sound but now he was also ripping off his own Oasis songs. It didn’t work for me and I don’t think Liam could understand the term “flogging a dead horse” so continued anyway.

His brother Noel, the talent of Oasis, stopped the flogging of the horse and took his music in a new direction with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and the song “AKA… What A Life!”:

Beady Eye carried on and it was quite obvious that when they performed the Oasis classic, Wonderwall, at the London 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony that Liam’s voice was failing – big time.

The follow-up album, BE, which I assume stood for Beady Eye and confirms that Liam has never had an original idea in his life made minimal impact on the music scene. The die-hard Oasis fans would have loved it because they were too scared to admit to themselves that times have moved on.

There’s been no real reason give for why Beady Eye have split up but one could guess that Liam has p***** all the other members off once too often.

Oasis will “Live Forever” but now that this poor copy has disbanded let’s just let them rest in peace
