I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

Secret Love” by Doris Day was Number One on 17th April 1954 and remained on the top spot for 1 week although it did return a few weeks later.

This song is from the musical “Calamity Jane“. I love a good musical but I haven’t yet watched this one and I have just decided that it’s going on my “things to do this weekend” list.

Sorry Doris, no offence, but I did actually think you were dead but no – very much alive at the good old age of 92. Amazing!
