I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

Stranger In Paradise” by Tony Bennett was Number One on 14th May 1955 and stayed there for two weeks. I’ve always thought of Tony Bennett as a “less cool” version of Frank Sinatra.

This could be a very timely post as this is the first time in this series that the artist is still currently in the charts and not just in the charts but at the top and not just at the top but at the top with Lady Gaga. Maybe Tony is “cool” after all…
