I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

Rose Marie” by Slim Whitman was Number One on 30th July 1955 and stayed there for eleven weeks. If you like a little yodel then you will love this song. Also, if you love facts then you will be interested that this song held the record for being the longest song to stay at number one until Bryan Adams broke this record 36 years later.

As much as I got fed up hearing the Bryan Adams song I think I would have killed myself had I been alive when Rose Marie was being played constantly.
