I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

Singing The Blues” by Guy Mitchell was the first Number One of 1957 and was at the top spot on January 5th for one week.

The man who brought us “She Wears Red Feathers” was back with another cracking tune. He’s trying his best to convince the lady in the video but it looks like she’s having none of it.

This song was on a number one yo-yo as it went back to the top on two occasions in the following weeks. Not only that but Tommy Steele recorded a version of the song and that went to number one the following week.

Tommy was the first British teen idol and rock and roll star and is way cooler than Guy Mitchell…
