I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

That’ll Be the Day” by The Crickets was Number One on 2nd November 1957 and stayed there for three weeks.

The Crickets, of course, was Buddy Holly’s band and a template for pretty much every band ever since. This was their first Number One and as well as Buddy Holly being an amazing musical artist – didn’t he wear those glasses well?
