I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

Welcome to 1959 and “The Day That the Rains Came Down” by Jane Morgan was Number One on 24th January and stayed there for one weeks only

I can just see people fed up after Christmas looking out of the window at the horrible rainy day outside and listening to this song. Cheer up – you don’t know what’s just around the corner (hint it’s the Sixties).
