I thought I would take a stroll down Eurovision memory lane and remind myself of my first impressions of all the songs from 2014. Unbelievably – Ireland failed to qualify for the final

Someone has finally convinced Ireland that they don’t have to always enter ballads into the Eurovision Song Contest.

This year they have entered Can-linn featuring Kasey Smith. It’s a very upbeat, dance track with a subtle hint of Irish folk. Just subtle enough to allow the hot backing dancers to a little Irish jig without looking too much out-of-place.

I like this a lot and I can really see it put Ireland back on the Eurovision map for credible reasons.

Good luck Ireland!
