I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Travellin’ Light” by Cliff Richard & The Shadows was Number One on 31st October 1959 and stayed there for five weeks.

Sir Cliff gets a bit of a hard time these days but I still think he’s great. This song was the chart topper when the first sections of the M1 motorway were officially opened.
