I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Only The Lonely” by Roy Orbison was Number One on 22nd October 1960 and stayed there for two weeks.

The Big O – he is simply the sound of the Sixties and this song although quite upbeat does have a sad undertone behind it. I do think the audience in the video need to get a little bit more life about them!
