I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Runaway” by Del Shannon was Number One on 1st July 1961 and stayed there for three weeks.

I’ve known this song for what seems like forever. I remember it being played on the radio when I was young on a Sunday afternoon show where they played all the golden oldies. Brilliant!
