Everybody Still Needs Them – Neighbours 30th Anniversary

One of my favourite soap operas when I was growing up was Neighbours and the show is celebrating it’s 30th Anniversary in 2015. What songs would I include on a Neighbours mix-tape?

The obvious choice would be something by Kylie & Jason but as they have both declined to take part in any the celebrations of the show that made them both household names I shall refrain from including them!

“Mona” by Craig McLachlan

The very funny Henry Mitchell who will apparently be helping with the 30th birthday celebrations.

“All Mixed Up” by The Blakeney Twins

A poptastic tune from the Alessi sisters who both had romantic interludes with the next entry…

“Don’t It Make You Feel Good?” by Stefan Dennis

Bad boy Paul Robinson who is still in the show today put on his leather jacket and gave it some attitude!

“Born To Try” by Delta Goodrem

Nina Tucker who was actually became a pop star in the show and will also be making a come back!

“Torn” by Natalie Imbruglia

Possibly the best song in the world ever! Natalie was Beth Brennan in the soap but she is a much better pop star!

“Voodoo Child” by Rogue Traders

This electronic band were joined by Natalie Bassingthwaighte who played Izzy Hoyland and this is an absolute cracking song!

“Old Fashioned Christmas” by Anne Charleston & Ian Smith

Last but by no means least – the two characters that made Neighbours in my opinion. Madge & Harold, they will be appearing in the 30th anniversary celebrations in some way and I really can’t wait!

What about you? I’m sure there are ones I’ve missed so what was your favourite Aussie soap star turned popstar song?

OMG – Pft me…
