Popular UK soap opera, Eastenders, celebrates its 30th anniversary this week. First broadcast on 19th February 1985 – what were we listening to back then? What would be on my Eastenders mix-tape?
Since the big storyline leading up to the 30th anniversary is – “who killed Lucy Beale?” – let’s see how these songs could have murdered her…just go with it!
“I Know Him So Well ” by Barbara Dickson & Elaine Page
I loved this song and still do. Oh the 80s hair and fashion – don’t you just love it? If Lucy Beale was in this video I’m pretty sure either the hairspray or the dry ice would have killed her!
“Atmosphere” by Russ Abbot
A comedian having a “serious” try at being a pop star. Maybe Russ forced Lucy to listen to this song over and over again until her ears started bleeding?
“You Spin Me Round (Like A Record)” by Dead Or Alive
Well, we know she was alive and now she’s dead. Perhaps it was lead singer Pete Burns decided to grab Lucy by the hair and spin her round, right round until she was so dizzy that she just died.
“Ghostbusters” by Ray Parker Jr
Well judging by the latest #EElive episode of Eastenders – there is a ghost! Her name is Kathy Beale and maybe she did some busting and busted Lucy’s ass. Another classic song from a classic movie!
“Dancing In The Dark” by Bruce Springsteen
Poor Lucy – she will now forever be dancing in the dark thanks to Bobby. Yes – BOBBY MURDERED LUCY BEALE!!!
What about you? What songs would be on your Eastenders mix-tape from these choices?
