I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Sweets For My Sweet” by The Searchers was Number One on 10th August 1963 and stayed there for two weeks.

A brilliant track from this era. Sadly, this is not the version I most associate with this song. I remember the CJ Lewis version from 1994.
