Two years after the release of their debut album Irish rock band Kodaline are back with their second offering titled ‘Coming Up For Air’. As their first album charted at number 3 in the UK I had high hopes for their latest release.
Lead single ‘Honest’ opens the album, and should satisfy Kodaline’s existing fan-base, following the same successful formula the band implemented during their first album In A Perfect World with simple but catchy guitar riffs and lyrics of heartbreak. However, the track indicates Kodaline’s venture into new remits, with a powerful chorus worthy of filling arenas, suggesting the band have set themselves a higher bar to reach, and I predict they will be moving up the festival bill this summer, and deservedly so.
