Eurovision Song Contest 2016: United Kingdom “You Decide” – Songs And Artists Revealed

Eurovision 2016 is almost upon us and for this first time in a few years the UK has decided to allow the public to vote for the entry. The songs were revealed on Radio 2 today with the live final on Friday! Here’s my initial thoughts on all six songs.

Joe and Jake – “You’re Not Alone”

Previous Voice UK participants team up to try to represent their country…

Not a bad song by a couple of young guys who wouldn’t look out-of-place in One Direction. For the first song offering it seems like the UK might actually be getting it right this year.

Rating: 2/5

Bianca – “Shine A Little Light”

Co written by Leona Lewis, a song title that harks back to the last UK winning song and quite frankly – an AWESOME song!

Dulcima – “When You Go”

A bouncy song from a cool male/female – these guys put Electro Velvet very much to shame!

Matthew James – “A Better Man”

Matthew used to be in the boyband Bad Boys Inc and I’m pleased he has made a return but sorry – this song is dull!

Darline – “Until Tomorrow”

A refreshing country pop duo which isn’t bad but it just doesn’t have that “something”

Karl William Lund – “Miracle”

29 year old singer/songwriter from Liverpool ticks ALL the boxes for a winning Eurovison song! THIS. IS. IT!

Now – it’s up to the United Kingdom to vote for their favourite on Friday. Let’s make a good decision and make 2016 the year the UK win!
