LISTEN: “Ascension” By Holly Johnson

The lead singer of 80s legendary pop group – Frankie Goes To Hollywood returns with an anthem of a song.

Holly Johnson worked with Gary Barlow on Ascension for the film Eddie The Eagle.

The song received its first play on BBC Radio 2 Ken Bruce show in Feb 2016 and will be released in March 2016. Both the single and the film have been receiving very favourable reviews.

Holly really shows off his powerful voice on this track and it begins like a power ballad but soon whips up into a power pop frenzy.

I first head it during the show that announce the UK Eurovision song hopefuls and wished this had been one of them – this would have won hands down. This is the type of song/artist that the UK should be sending to Eurovision!
