Eurovision Times Song Contest 5: Get To Know The Songs!

What is ETSC?

Every summer when most people have forgotten about Eurovision there’s a blog called The Eurovision Times that hosts their own song contest and it’s awesome!

Regular readers of the blog get to choose a country and pick a song to send to the ETSC and then vote just like the Eurovision – it’s all very exciting and I am glad I decided to enter this year.

I put forward all my preferred countries and ended up with Monaco. I was quite pleased with that until I realised that there aren’t a lot of singers from Monaco! They last participated in Eurovision in 2006 when Séverine Ferrer performed the song “La Coco-dance” which sadly didn’t qualify to the final…

They did however win the contest back in 1971 with the song “Un banc, un arbre, une rue” performed by Séverine

After failing to find a genuine Monégasque/Monacan artist I took a look to see what sort of songs were popular on their radio stations and came across a French singing girl from Israel who has collaborated with Flo-Rida. I hit the jackpot, right? The song also is about dancing which is a link to their previous entry too so I was allowed to enter it. Here it is, get ready to bounce along!

I’m now technically representing the jury of my chosen country and my next task is to deliver points to all the other entries and I’d like to ask for your opinions too so here is a playlist of all the entires…

What do you think? Do you like my entry from Tal? Which country should get the 12 points from my jury? Let me know in the comments below or tweet me @PopAndTalk
