Who is Greer?

Greer is an 19 year old singer from the suburbs of Boston, MA. His love for music started at the young age of eight were he started voice lessons and performing in local shows and recitals. One of five kids Greer gets his music and sound inspiration from his two older siblings. One of his older brothers listened to Outcast and 50 cent. His other brother listen to Britney and Nsync. The two opposite sounds came together to form Greer’s influence on his own music.

Take a listen to one of his latest tracks “Love Me Less” and then read on to see the interview that he did with me…

Hey Greer – thanks for taking the time to chat with me! One of your songs is “Deal With The Devil” – is this based on a personal experience lol – what’s it about?

It is not based on a personal experience but I had the line “deal with the devil” and “you signed away your life tonight” before going into the studio and this concept of being in a relationship that you know is toxic but you can’t resist it.

Who are your musical gods or goddesses?

Rihanna and Partynextdoor.

I’m currently losing interest in Rihanna but let’s hear from Partynextdoor…

What was the first song you sang in public?

The first song I sang in public was “Beautiful Disaster” by Jon McLaughlin I sang it at my first recital when I was 10. I was so nervous I felt like I was going to puke.

Nerves are good though! What was the last song you sang in public?

The last song I sang in public was “No Woman, No Cry” by Bob Marley at my parents summer party.

And I bet everyone loved it! What’s on your MP3 player right now?

Currently I have been listening to “CRZY” by Kehlani, “LUV” by Tory Lanez and “Starving” by Hailee Steinfeld ft. Zedd.

Cool – I’ll need to check them out!

Tell us something embarrassing about yourself…

I don’t know if this is embarrassing but I put Frank’s red hot sauce on absolutely everything.

Interesting – better not tell Frank!

What was the last gig you performed at?

It was at a local bar in the city were I just performed a few cover songs that I have been working on.

Have you heard of Eurovision?

I have just seen clips of it online but not enough to really know what it’s all about.

I think you would love it!

What was the number one song when you were born?

I was born in 1997 and the longest running number one song was “Candle in the Wind 1997”/”Something About the Way You Look Tonight” by Elton John.

Oh. My. Goodness. That means you weren’t even born when Princess Diana was alive – now I feel really old…and sad for you that you never got to know her…

Who is the Queen Of Pop?

The iconic Britney Spears.

Wrong! It’s always Madonna!

What’s your favourite joke?

I don’t have a specific joke but I love to pull pranks and scare my siblings.

Ooo like scarecam. Don’t do it to your Grandma though…

What’s your favourite lyric from your own songs?

I go back and forth between “like a gunshot quick and easy” in my song “Blow Your Mind” and “when I’m bad I’m better” in my song “Deal With The Devil”.

Now let’s hear “Deal With The Devil”…

What’s your favourite lyric ever?

“ I lick the gun when I’m done cause I know that revenge is sweet” in Rihanna’s song “G4L”.

Sounds gross – I won’t play that if you don’t mind.

Have you ever been to Scotland?

I have never been before but it’s a place I would like to visit one day.

You’d love it!

What’s next for Greer?

I am trying to get into the studio at any chance that I get. I just want to put out some music and an EP. I want to start performing at shows and clubs.

All the best of luck for the future Greer, for chatting with me!
