Who are Vaults?

Vaults are an English electronica band from south London, currently composed of Blythe Pepino, Barney Freeman, and Ben Vella.

Founded in 2013 the band have released a few singles and have built up a loyal fan base. Their biggest success so far was the song ‘One Last Night’ which was included on the soundtrack for Fifty Shades Of Grey…

Although they may not be known by everyone in the UK, that’s all about to change thanks to John Lewis.

The trio are following in the footsteps of Ellie Goulding, Lily Allen, Tom Odell and Aurora by featuring on the 2016 Christmas advert. This is fast becoming a huge part of the festive season in the UK so this is a great springboard for the band.

The song is a cover of Randy Crawford’s 1980 hit, ‘One Day I’ll Fly Away’ so first of let’s remind ourselves of the original…

I’m sure the video will once again have the nation saying ‘aaaaaawww’ especially as there’s many cute animals featured…

Now it’s aired that’s the competition well and truly on for the best festive advert and stay tuned to this blog for the Talk About Pop Music Christmas advert!

In the meantime you can listen to more songs by Vaults on Spotify:
