Hands up if you know how many different classifications of pop music exist?

By Steve McSteveface

If you said 11 – well done. According to some sources you would be correct! According to others pop music is simply what’s ‘popular’. That’s fine but I need to categorize things ok!

What are they I hear you ask? Well, click here for a quick rundown together with definitions, some sample songs and a full Spotify playlist, then check out the latest songs that have just been added to the awesome playlist below

‘The Best Way’ – Bruce

BRUCE is Dan Fromhart and Logan Petitto. Over the past decade, the two cut their teeth playing together in various indie bands, landing in Seattle at the end of 2013. In early 2017, Dan and Logan redefined how and why they wrote songs, focusing on the most energizing, pure-fun output possible.

‘Sugar Don’t Make Me Lie’ – Vanessa Pottiger

After being given 24-hours notice that the school she worked for was closing for good, Boston-born singer songwriter Vanessa Pottiger interpreted the shocking news as a swift kick in the butt from God himself to finally pursue a career as an artist.

‘Fly Away’ – Rosé

Rosé is the new French duo from two loving people ready to make things move. Launched in 2019, with a wish to explore various musical genres through colourful and emotional tracks, Rosé will make you travel in uncharted places.

The name Rosé, which appears to have strong french roots, was created in tribute to the duo’s passion for French wine and culture.

‘Die For A Meal’ – HUMAN

The two piece band Human, from Hamburg Germany was founded in 2016.  Their sound is based on a blend between 80´s synth music, independent rock and pop elements.
