So, what’s new on the New Music Express recently?
‘Rivington’ – Half Hadley
Half Hadley are an independent American rock band from New York City, featuring Scott Rainaud (Lead Vocals), Benji Arnold (Guitar, Vocals), Troy Johnson (Guitar), Forrest Klawunn (Bass) and Winston Vargo (Drums). The group formed in October 2018 after Scott, Benji, Troy and Winston attended a Tigers Jaw concert at Brooklyn Steel. The four met as a loose circle of mutual friends and left as bandmates, knowing something special was on the horizon the moment they made introductions. Forrest joined the band a few months later as their full time bassist to round out the group and enhance their sound.
‘Falling Down’ – Curling Dreams
Curling Dreams is an indie band from the small coastal town Halmstad in Sweden. They were formed late 2018, and they play simple indie/dream-pop. In June 2019 they released their first single “Happy Now”, and did a number of concerts mostly in their hometown. Their new single “Falling Down” is available now.
‘Sick’ – Cherokee Death Cats
Cherokee Death Cats mix garage, rock and dirty pop with electronic beats.
The Anglo / Swedish duo of Bea Persson and Rat Westlake are based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The project grew out of a flurry of dynamic studio sessions and performances at underground clubs.
CDC released their debut EP “No No No” in April 2019, and signed with US publishers and media company Position Music shortly after.
