Ezra Jordan releases “Cheap Therapy”
Following on from his single “Cliffs“, which we featured back in January, singer/songwriter Ezra Jordan has just released his bumper-length, seven-track EP, “Cheap Therapy”, which includes the new single “In Case”, featuring Willa, as well. Ezra tells us that while it’s been a long journey from conceptualisation to release, he realises now that this project is really a culmination of everything he has done since he started really taking this music thing seriously, or perhaps even earlier than that.
Ezra enlightens us further: “The whole EP was produced by Goldchain and I, with some other collaborators (Matt Kahane, Quin Kiu, Elijah Woods, and Julian Psihogios) chipping in production on the songs they helped write. Funnily enough, one of the biggest recurring problems throughout the lifespan of the relationship ‘Cheap Therapy’ was written about, was that I travelled/worked too much and didn’t have enough time to dedicate to her. That theme continued into the creative process of this record, where everything was fairly run-and-gun and we worked whenever we had the time/some kind of place to go. ‘Cheap Therapy’ started off being about me and some things I was going through, but now it’s really for all of you”.
“Cliffs” is included on the EP along with “In Case” and the previously released “Easy” and “Is It Just Me”? along with three other new songs. We showcased Willa to you last year with her track “Cause You Did“, and since then the young Canadian has really been making tracks with her own music and more recently, with her collaboration with Ezra on “In Case”, which has such great atmosphere and vibe as the track progresses with Ezra and Willa’s vocals perfectly complimenting each others. “In Case” could easily be a ballad/duet but just moves and grooves you from beginning to end. This is a must listen to and deserves to be heard by a wide audience the world over. Spread the word…!
