If you said 11 – well done. According to some sources you would be correct! According to others pop music is simply what’s ‘popular’. That’s fine but I need to categorize things ok!

‘Alive’ – Notelle
Based in Nashville, TN, Notelle has been working as a featured vocalist and topliner since 2014. ‘When You’re Around’ – Superocean
Portland dream pop four-piece Superocean began as CASTLES in 2016. After several years of adventurous, spaced out indie rock, they renamed, and began branching out with synth elements and poppier song structures on the 2019 Superocean EP. Now, the band is coming back catchier than ever with the infectious indie pop groove, ‘When You’re Around’, the second release off their upcoming summer EP.
Superocean have found a cozy niche in Portland’s dream-pop scene, blending pop influence, jangly riffs, and a touch of 60’s psychedelia.
‘Easy For You’ – DOLLY ZOOM
DOLLY ZOOM is a psychedelic synth-pop 4 piece from Brisbane. Blending melancholic hooks through layers of progressive synth, guitar, bass and drums – DOLLY ZOOM’s soaring melodies and unique vocal lines balance to create a soundscape that pushes listeners to feel something more than your average pop track.
DOLLY ZOOM draws inspiration from a broad spectrum of genres, citing Daft Punk, M83, Tame Impala and Porcupine Tree are four of their biggest influences. The band members gel their diverse musical backgrounds and skill sets together to bring you the sounds of DOLLY ZOOM.
‘Borrowed Time’ – State Cows
STATE COWS is one of very few modern yacht rock / westcoast / AOR bands that creates new original music. The band consists of Daniel Andersson on vocals and guitars and Stefan Olofsson on keyboards and bass. Many guest musicians have contributed to their recordings and live gigs, most notably Jay Graydon (two-time Grammy winner, twelve-time Grammy nominee, STEELY DAN, EARTH, WIND & FIRE), Bill Champlin (CHICAGO), Jason Scheff (CHICAGO), Michael Landau (MICHAEL JACKSON, PINK FLOYD) and Ian Bairnson (KATE BUSH, ALAN PARSONS PROJECT).
Daniel Andersson is a singer/guitarist from Umeå / Sweden. Together with bass player Peter Starefeldt, he released the Westcoast EP Strange Ways under the acronym DP. In 2008, he released his solo debut album Days in L.A. based on his experiences in Hollywood. It was very well received by critics and the listening community.
Stefan Olofsson is a keyboardist/bass player from Umeå / Sweden. He was a session player on “Strange Ways” and “Days in L.A.” and released a solo album in 2003 entitled Story of a Woman combining elements of jazz, classical, progressive and Swedish folk music. He’s also a member of crossover prog band Dynamo Bliss.
‘Flaunt’ – Saachi Sen
Saachi Sen is a Mumbai-born, London-raised pop singer songwriter, whose vivid, imaginative lyrics tackle anything from racism, to loneliness, to love.
Her skill as a writer has earned her several accolades, including a semi-finalist place in the International Songwriting Competition and PRS for Music’s prestigious Lynsey de Paul Prize for female songwriters.
A past resident artist at Camden’s Roundhouse, Saachi’s live career covers festivals like Frank Turner’s Lost Evenings II, Alchemy at the Southbank Centre and Cambridge Big Weekend’s mainstage, plus popular London venues like O2 Academy Islington and Oslo Hackney (supporting Soumik Datta). In her biggest gig to date, she performed in Trafalgar Square to over 10,000 people at Pride in London 2019.
Her jazz band Saachi reached Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition Long List last year and has gained support from BBC Introducing and Spotify editorial playlists such as Women of Indie India.
Saachi’s solo music is influenced by classic artists like Don McLean, Suzanna Vega and Joan Baez, as well as modern pop stars like Lauv and Gabrielle Aplin. Her new single ‘Flaunt’ is a warm, joyful love song, recorded at Spotify’s Secret Genius Studio at Metropolis London.
‘Devil’s Eyes’ – Anna Mae Kelly
Anna Mae Kelly is a 17 year old naturally talented musician who has grown up in Kettering. Anna grew up admiring various superstars of music and has found herself being largely inspired by both the musical and personal journeys of previously troubled stars such as Elton John and Freddie Mercury. Her personal sound is reminiscent of Adele and a young Florence & The Machine, with bold, passionate vocals that provide a modern approach to the sounds she grew up listening to. As a regular listener to an eclectic mix of genre’s including Imagine Dragons, Queen and Taylor Swift, Anna brings a raw approach to her sensational pop hits. Catchy hooks and singalong chorus’ are ready made for the listener to throw themselves into.
