Eurovision 2018 – Latvia
The Latvia song is called ‘Funny Girl‘ and performed by Laura Rizzotto.
ARTIST
Laura Rizzotto is a 23 year old singer, songwriter and pianist born in Brazil, to a Latvian father and a Brazilian mother of Portuguese descent. She wrote her first tune at the age of eleven and has published more than 100 original songs since then.
At the age of fifteen, Laura started performing in the Rio de Janeiro’s music scene. Her first record deal came up one year later, after a record company executive saw her performing live. Her debut studio album, Made in Rio, was released in 2011. Shortly after, Laura received a scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music and moved to Boston, United States.
SONG
The song Funny Girl won the Latvian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon. The song, which Laura wrote and composed, will be included on Laura’s upcoming EP Amber, to be released in 2018, to celebrate her Latvian heritage.

OPINION
This is very edgy and very current. She will no doubt be able to deliver an epic performance on the stage but I don’t think it will be all that memorable.
PREDICTION
This will be a borderline qualifier and if it does make the final it will be forgettable.
