I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones was Number One on 11th September 1965 and stayed there for two weeks.

This is probably their best known song and is definitely one of my favourites. I challenge anyone to listen to it without doing a Mick Jagger impression.


Fast forward almost 50 years and they are STILL at it, there’s a lot to be said for that even if you think they should have given up a long time ago.
