I have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Release Me” by Engelbert Humperdinck was Number One on 4th March 1967 and stayed there for four weeks.

Credited as “one of the finest middle-of-the-road balladeers around” this is a nice song but there’s no getting away from the fact that he flopped at Eurovision! Way to go Engeldinck Humperbert.

Tune in to me on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube…
