procol-harum-a-whiter-shade-of-pale-intercordI have a playlist that contains every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process. Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.

“Whiter Shade Of Pale” by Procul Harum was Number One on 10th June 1967 and stayed there for six weeks.

This is considered a classic of popular music and is one of the few singles to have sold over 10 million copies. I think it’s ace! It has a very atmospheric, melancholy sound and I quite often associate it with sad scenes in movies. Great song but not to be listened to if you want to lift your mood.
