I want to review every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process.
Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.
“Je T’Aime… Moi Non Plus” by Jane Birkin & Serge Gainsbourg was number one on 30th August 1969 and stayed there for three weeks.
This song caused quite a lot of controversy due to the lyrics and the moaning. Ooo err missus – it’s rather tame in comparison to the kind of the things we get now but it still sounds kind of sleazy to me.
