I want to review every UK number one song since charts began in 1952. Thanks to EveryHit, this is a fairly simple process.
Let’s remind ourselves of these songs.
“Bridge Over Troubled Water” by Simon & Garfunkel was number one on 28th March 1970 and stayed there for 3 weeks.
This is up there with some of my all time favourite songs. It’s a true classic – Art Garfunkel’s voice is amazing (not too sure about the hair though, Art) and the song is simply pure emotion. It’s a power ballad, it’s got piano – it’s got everything it needs to be an iconic pop song!
Also, I wouldn’t be doing this song justice if I didn’t share a live version too…
The talkaboutpopmusic Every UK Number One is now on Spotify. Relive, enjoy and share every song featured up until the latest post…
