
Eurovision 2018
Eurovision season is fast approaching and the news stories are beginning to come thick and fast so let’s summarise some of the main stories so far.
Eurovision Song Contest 2018 – Logo & Slogan revealed
The Eurovision 2018 slogan will be ‘All Aboard’ with an overall theme of water.
There are multiple logos with the main one being a shell!
43 Countries will participate and tickets will go on sale on 30th November!
43 countries will be taking part in 2018 this means that the contest in Lisbon will equal the record amount of countries that participated in Belgrade in 2008 and Dusseldorf in 2011.
Tickets go on sale on 30th November and I will be making sure I grab mine as soon as possible – we’ve already got flights and hotels booked so finger’s crossed we can get tickets during the first wave!
Måns Zelmerlöw will host You Decide, the National Final of the United Kingdom
Eurovision: You Decide, the national song selection show for the UK entry, will take place on Wednesday 7 February 2018, live from the world-famous Brighton Dome, the site of ABBA’s 1974 Eurovision Song Contest win with Waterloo.
I’m not quite sure why it’s on a week night but it does seem like the BBC are perhaps putting more effort into it this time?
Joining the BBC Eurovision family, 2015 Eurovision Song Contest winner Måns Zelmerlöw will co-host the fantastic night of television and song alongside self-confessed Eurovision superfan, Mel Giedroyc.
Saara Aalto will represent Finland at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest!
Saara Aalto, also know from The Voice of Finland, the X Factor UK and earlier editions of Finnish national selection UMK, will represent Finland.
Will her dreams finally come true and she will actually WIN something?
Waylon will represent The Netherlands at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest!
Waylon has participated at the Eurovision Song Contest as part of the Common Linnets in 2014. Together with Ilse de Lange, he came in second place. I’m excited to see what he can bring to the contest as a solo performer!
Oh Mammadova! Aisel to represent Azerbaijan at Eurovision in 2018.
It has been confirmed that Aisel Mammadova will represent Azerbaijan in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. İctimai Television opted for an internal selection once again and Aisel’s song for Lisbon will be unveiled at a later date.
