OPINION
France really put a lot of effort in this year and it was obvious from the final songs in ‘Destination Eurovision’ as they were quality songs by great performers. ‘Mercy’ was my favourite to win and I’m glad that it did. I’d like to describe Madame Monsieur as a mash-up of The Common Linnets and Norma John and the song is very friendly on the ears. It will certainly get hands in the air during the final!
PREDICTION
I really like this one and hopefully it will do really well for France this year and I can see it finishing in the top 10.
LYRICS
Translated Lyrics: English
I was born this morning
My name is Mercy
In the middle of the sea
Between two countries, Mercy
It was a long way and Mom took it
She had me in the skin, eight months and a half
Oh yes, eight months and half
We left the house, it was the war
Safe she was right, there was nothing to lose
Oh no, except life
I was born this morning
My name is Mercy
I was given my hand
And I ‘m alive
I’m all these kids
Let the sea took
I live a hundred thousand years
my name is Mercy
and there before our eyes the enemy Y’avait
a blue immensity perhaps infinite
yes, we knew the price
Emerging from a wave, a friendly ship
A gave back our chance to our survival
It is there, that I uttered my first cry
I was born this morning
My name is Mercy
I was stretched out my hand
And I am in life
I have all these kids
Let the sea took
I live a hundred thousand years
I’m Mercy
I was born this morning
my name is Mercy
Thank you, thank you, I’m fine thank you
thank you, thank you, I’m fine thank you
thank you, thank you I’m fine thank
you Thank you, thank you, I’m fine thank you
