The Germany song is called ‘You Let Me Walk Alone and performed by Michael Schulte.

SONG

Thomas Stengaard, 38, is a multi-platinum selling Danish songwriter and producer based in Copenhagen. You Let Me Walk Alone is his second contribution to the Eurovision. He was also one of the co-writers of the Danish entry Only Teardrops, that won the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. In 2015 he produced and co-wrote one of the biggest Danish hits that year, Cisilia’s Vi To Datid Nu, that also won Song Of The Year and Newcomer Of The Year at the Danish Music Awards.

The year after he co-wrote the song UFO with Alex Mattson feat Solamay, that went double platinum. LIVE PERFORMANCE

OPINION

It’s a great pop song, there’s no denying that. My fear is that it’s too generic and won’t stand out from the crowd. I’d certainly be listening to this if it was in the charts! Give him a guitar and he could be the German version of Ed Sheeran.

PREDICTION

I think it will do better than last year’s entry for Germany and might even pick up a fair few points but I can’t see it performing that well come the voting.

LYRICS

I’m a dreamer, a make believer
I was told that you were too
I love the silence and a clear horizon
And I got that all from you

Every now and then I’m drawn to places
Where I hear your voice or see your face and
Every little thought will lead me right back to you

I was born from one love of two hearts
We were three kids and a loving mom
You made this place a home
A shelter from the storm

You said I had one life and a true heart
I tried my best and I came so far
But you will never now
‘Cause you let me walk this road alone

My childhood hero will always be you
And no one else comes close
I thought you’d lead me when m life’s misleading
That’s when I miss you most

Every now and then I’m drawn to places
Where I hear your voice or see your face and
Every little thought will lead me right back to you

I was born from one love of two hearts
We were three kids and a loving mom
You made this place a home
A shelter from the storm

You said I had one life and a true heart
I tried my best and I came so far
But you will never now
‘Cause you let me walk this road alone

Whoa, oh oh
Whoa, oh oh
Whoa, oh oh

I was born from one love of two hearts
We were three kids and a loving mom
You made this place a home
A shelter from the storm

You said I had one life and a true heart
I tried my best and I came so far
But you will never now
‘Cause you let me walk this road alone
