According to Freezepop anyway!
Ever heard of them?
Freezepop are an electronic group formed in 1999 in Boston, Massachusetts and are so called because their music is ‘sweet and cold and fruity and plastic’! They released their debut album “Freezepop Forever” in 2000 that includes the song “Science Genius Girl” which has been used in a number of music video games including ‘FreQuency’ and ‘Karaoke Revolution’.
Their second album “Fancy Ultra-Fresh” was released in 2004 and includes the song “I Am Not Your Gameboy” used in the ‘Guitar Hero On Tour’ game.
They returned in 2007 with the album “Future Future Future Perfect” which includes the song “Pop Music Is Not A Crime” (above) that is featured in the iPod game ‘Phase’.
Their fourth, and to date most recent album “Imaginary Friends”, was released in 2010.
They are currently putting the finishing touches to their fifth studio album, which has been paid for by an online Kickstarter Crowdfunding campaign that raised $40,000 in just a few days!
The group have also released a number of EP’s including “The Covers EP” (2015) that features their version of Yazoo’s 1982 hit “Only You”.
So look out, Freezepop are about!
And it’s NOT a crime to like pop music!
