Wait No Longer!
Have you ever been waiting and waiting… for something or someone to enter your life and change it for the better??!!
NICOLAH is a Cumbrian singer songwriter based in London. Her music, built on a foundation of classic songwriting that blends pop sensibilities with an indie spirit. She shares similarities with early Katy Perry and her Christian pop roots, the sweet strum & vocals of Joni Mitchell and the stadium pumping energy of Coldplay’s anthem choruses. Her music is a sum of fresh life experiences about faith, sexuality, culture… a unique and empathic world view.
Her new music takes us deeper into her heart and mind, developing the concepts of reflection, refraction & dispersion. ‘Waiting on You’, invites listeners to be introspective and see the power and completeness of themselves. A timeless song about the answers that lie within.
After playing live for literally millions at London’s busy underground platforms, her first single won the Mayor of London GIGS Songwriting Prize sponsored by PRS for Music taking her to play at Glastonbury 2017 alongside Everything Everything, Naughty Boy & Mullally.
Since then she’s received support & multiple airplay with BBC introducing with Tom Salmon and in August 2018 recorded a live session including an exclusive performance of ‘Waiting on You’.
Talking about the new song, Nicolah explains, “I wrote this song unintentionally as a love song, but soon realised it’s as much a love letter to myself as to anyone else. It is, I guess, what I wish I’d known at age 13. Waiting on You’ is a beautiful, timeless song, about self acceptance. In posing as a love song, its message is entwined in love for another and love for self. Putting the focus back on the individual and with lyrics like …I see your failure and still I like you… invites listeners to see their imperfections as wholeness.”
