PLAYLIST: Sex Education – A Binge Show Soundtrack

‘Sex Education’

By Steve McSteveface

“Socially awkward high school student Otis may not have much experience in the lovemaking department, but he gets good guidance on the topic in his personal sex ed course — living with mom Jean, who is a sex therapist. Being surrounded by manuals, videos and tediously open conversations about sex, Otis has become a reluctant expert on the subject. When his classmates learn about his home life, Otis decides to use his insider knowledge to improve his status at school, so he teams with whip-smart bad girl Maeve to set up an underground sex therapy clinic to deal with their classmates’ problems. But through his analysis of teenage sexuality, Otis realizes that he may need some therapy of his own.

Another Netflix Original that doesn’t fail to disappoint. Once you get over the British/American mash up this is a really funny show with something I think everyone can relate to one way or the other.

One of the stand out characters has to be Gillian Anderson’s. Such a change from her most popular character to date. I bet Agent Mulder wished that Dana Scully acted more like this in the X Files.

THE SONGS

The soundtrack has a great selection of songs from 80s to current day and even further back – so what’s not to like?

The song used in the trailer is ‘Love You So Bad’ by Ezra Furman.

Ezra is actually featured a lot in the soundtrack which isn’t a bad thing as he is quite awesome.

One of my other favourite songs on the soundtrack is ‘(Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher & Higher’ by Jackie Wilson. How could this fail to put a smile on anyone’s face!
