FRESH: ‘Bend And Break’ – FM-84

80’s-esque electro-pop duo FM-84 return with their incredible new single “Bend And Break”.

by Christopher Smith

After the incredible independent success of their debut album “Atlas” and a sold out US, Canadian and UK tour, the synth pop duo of Col Bennett and Ollie Wride return with their long-awaited brand new single, “Bend And Break”.

It’s a soaring slow burn, melancholic, yet also euphoric. It’s a huge evolution of the FM-84 sound with lots of inspiration coming from Tears for Fears and the late 80s – all with that FM-84 twist. If you LOVE 80’s films or 80’s music, THIS IS FOR YOU! You can hear ‘Top Gun’, ‘The Breakfast Club’, ‘The Secret Of My Success’. they’re all here!

FM-84 are Col Bennett (a producer from Ayrshire, Scotland) and Ollie Wride (a singer-songwriter from Brighton, England). The album “Atlas” is the story of wonder, imagination, dreams, youth, innocence, love and heartbreak all captured under the golden light of a fading summer sun. The sound of a summer long gone (and perhaps one that those of us around in the 80’s will remember!).

The boys burst onto the music scene in 2015 with their debut EP “Los Angeles” and followed this with “Mainframe” and “Neon Sunrise” that same year. “Atlas” was released in 2016 and since then only the magnificent “Never Stop” (2017) has been made available. Thankfully, 2019 kicks off with this brand new recording and we can’t wait for more this year!
