Chasing The Perfect Love
Sarpa Salpa are a 4-piece indie pop band from Northampton who formed in 2016 featuring George (guitar), Marcus (guitar & vox), Charlie (drums) & Ethan (bass).
A busy 2018 saw the band play over 80 shows including 20 Festivals in the UK and overseas dates in France and Germany.
The band wrapped their busy summer tour up with a show for BBC Introducing at The Big Feastival before heading indoors in the autumn prior to more live shows including a London date as part of BLOGTOBERFEST.
In October the band released their first proper single ‘Smith’ on both digital and vinyl formats which saw the band picking up airplay over the regional BBC Introducing network, Amazing Radio and then the icing on the cake receiving plays from both BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq & Chris Hawkins.
Wrapping up 2018 the band were invited to play BBC Introducing Live at Tobacco Dock and they finished up the year with a small Christmas Tour hitting Hoxton, Northampton and Bedford, the latter two both sell out shows.
Keen to capitalise on the groundwork ‘Smith’ laid, the band don’t hang about & unleashed their new single ‘Casanova’ on 14th February.
Frontman Marcus Marooth speaks of Casanova being about the high standards people have when entering new relationships, and how expectations can get in the way of connecting with people for who they are and not who you want them to be. He explains that these days it can potentially stop people blossoming as couples, and the track describes how some “people will chase the perfect love that doesn’t exist”.
The accompanying video which see’s the four piece each play very different characters was shot and directed by legendary NME photographer Andy Willsher.
