Pianist and singer Paula Valstein offers her take on The Cure’s “Love Song”.
Paula Valstein is releasing her second single, her personal cover of The Cure’s 1989 hit “Love Song”, ‘reinvented’ thirty years on as a piano ballad. It follows her debut last year with her own composition “Two Seconds Ago”.
Paula Valstein is a pianist and singer-songwriter that lives on a line between Tel-aviv and New York. She already has a resume of performing shows with her band in NY, in legendary venues like The Blue Note, Rockwood music hall, Highline ballroom and many festivals like CMJ, The Milwaukee fest and the international shows in Canada, US and Asia. She has shared the stage with Joan Osborne, Dr John and others.
Paula says “I started to play Love song at my concerts in New York. I’m not used to do covers at my shows, it’s usually 100% my original stuff, but I fell in love with this song a while ago. Last year, the song changed it’s meaning for me, from 2 people that are in love to an infinite ‘love song’ of bringing a child and life to the world. I dedicate this song to my baby girl, I will always love you!”.
