British group Arctic Lake release their latest single “Holding On”.
Arctic Lake have released their brand new single “Holding On”. The London band have delivered a powerful, melancholic anthem with deep cutting lyrics. Lead singer Emma Foster’s ice cool vocal cuts through the warmth of the melody like glass, resulting in something sonically bewitching. Holding On shows Arctic Lake’s stylistic progression whilst maintaining the emotional vulnerability and effortless stillness of their previous works.
Arctic Lake are Emma Foster, Paul Holliman and Andy Richmond. The trio met over a shared desire to compose emotive, atmospheric music whilst studying in London. After releasing their debut single “Limits” in 2015, which was introduced by BBC Radio 1, they gained fans in Elton John, Huw Stephens and Annie Mac.
From there the band forged a consistent path of single releases before closing 2016 with the release of “Heal Me” – a compelling track that led them to being invited to perform Reading and Leeds Festival that year and continued to garner support from Radio 1 and BBC Introducing. Consecutive EP releases soon followed in 2017 (“Closer”) and 2018 (“What You May Find”), leading the band into mature song writing territory.
