US artist Vikki S teams up for “Artisty”.
When it comes to music, there are no boundaries, and genre labels are diminished. Vikki S, formerly known as Victoria Labban portrays that through her versatile vocal performances. At the age of four, Vikki’s love for music was discovered. She started in her church choir and got involved in local competitions. At the age of 10, her voice won various competitions locally and in the city. It also brought her an opportunity to attend at a prestigious Christian private school after performing at her Church’s Summer Festival in 2009. She later continued her studies at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts, also known as the Fame School, as a Vocal Major (Class of 2018).
Some of her greatest achievements as a youngster was competing in the local competition- “Meri Awaz Suno- International Singing Competition” where she sang in English and Hindi. She competed against 14 adults as the only child in the duration of the competition and was awarded Second Runner Up. At the age of 13, she auditioned to sing the American National Anthem for the opening game of the Mets and Citi Field in which she later was selected apart of the Top 20. She also won “ Child Star of Tomorrow” at Apollo Theater Amateur Night at the age of 9 where she later returned to and won the shows: Amateur Night and Show Off in first place, at the age of 17.
Vikki teams up with DJ Spinquick, NoMercy, Swagory for her latest track “Artistry”, a song about two individuals who grew up together and eventually grew feelings for each other. To protect their friendship they told lies to each other and themselves about their feelings to the point they became shells and grew distant. Years later they reconnect and they talk through everything. “Artisty” is her third track released this year since her debut “Do I Give In?” and is the follow up to “Digital Love”.
