FRESH: ‘Love Eternally’ – Haywoode

Haywoode is back with “Love Eternally”!

by Christopher Smith

Having released her originally intended single “Look My Way” (yes, the track that features on Kylie’s debut album) on the 14th February 2019, 80’s singer Haywoode is back with a brand new track “Love Eternally”, which is produced by Peter Wilson and Chris Richards, and is taken from her upcoming album “Bounceback Deluxe”.

“Look My Way” reached number No.88 on the UK iTunes Pop Album Chart, number No.33 on the overall iTunes Album Chart in Spain and number 94 on the overall iTunes Album Chart in Ireland. She also achieved chart status with “Roses 2018” through Energise Records. The EP peaked at number No.25 on the UK iTunes Electronic Album Chart.

Haywoode’s performing career began at an early age at London’s Corona Stage Academy, inspired by her iconic father, Don Haywoode of The Velours and The Fantastics. Her career started with modeling, dancing and acting roles in British television shows, which led to her recording career. Haywoode has appeared in the films, Ragtime, Superman & several others. She starred in the West End theatre production of Bubbling Brown Sugar, and appeared regularly on Europe’s longest running TV show, ‘Top of The Pops’. Her debut single, “A Time Like This”, reached the Top 5 in the US Hot Dance Club Play Chart and established her distinctive brand of soulful funk/pop.

Haywoode released a succession of singles in the 80’s – including tracks produced by Stock, Aitken & Waterman, “You’d Better Not Fool Around”, “I Can’t Let You Go” and “Getting Closer”, which was later recorded by Kylie Minogue. In 1986 her hit song “Roses” reached No.11 in the UK Charts. Her debut album “Arrival” includes her tribute to Prince with her rendition of “I Wanna Be Your Lover”. In 2010 Cherry Red’s Cherry Pop label released a digitally-remastered “Arrival” – Special Edition, remastered from original master tapes and featuring seven bonus tracks, the Special Edition also boasts a 16-page booklet containing extensive sleeve notes and interviews, lyrics, illustrated discography and additional pictures.

In 2011 Haywoode released an album named “Bounce Back”, collaborating with different producers in Australia, Netherlands, Italy and US. In the summer of 2012, she created a music production company Wonderlick Productions with her writing partner and music producer Soundsinsane. The song “Excuses” reached No.6 on Euro Solution’s Independent Hi Energy Dance Chart in UK. In 2018 Cherry Red Records released the “ROSES – Remixes & Rarities” Album. Remastered and compiled direct from the original CBS master tapes, “Roses: Remixes & Rarities” marked the first time that the majority of tracks had ever been made available on CD. With direct input from Haywoode herself, the release boasted an extensive booklet containing her personal commentary, a fully illustrated discography, lyrics and previously unseen shots from the archive of esteemed photographer Johnny Rozsa.
