Consecutive Run In The UK Top 40
Ed Sheeran holds the record for longest continuing run in the UK Top 40 with ‘Thinking Out Loud’.
In June 2015, this song became the first song to stay in the Top 40 for 52 consecutive weeks—equivalent to one year, having spent a record-breaking 18 weeks in the chart before reaching number one.
This broke the existing record set by ‘Happy’ from Pharrell Williams which had 49 weeks.
