English instrumental group, The Tornadoes were number for 5 weeks with Telstar.
This is the second instrumental number one in the UK this year, can you imagine that happening now? I’m afraid this tune has dated somewhat (despite it’s edgy, futuristic sound). The clavioline keyboard provides the distinct electrical fuzzy sound. It’s an odd sound that probably made Telstar ahead of its time, but for me it’s no thank you. Next.
