Steve James drops his new track “Still Ain’t You”!
Los Angeles artist, vocalist, producer, multi-instrumentalist and DJ Steve James unveils a brand new single entitled “Still Ain’t You”. On the track, ethereal keys shimmer beneath fluttering vocals. It builds towards a disco break punctuated by a high-energy bounce and hypnotic flourishes. Ebbing and flowing with dancefloor energy, the percussion drops, alternating from left-to-right as the hook takes flight.
About the track, he commented, “We wrote and recorded it in a day in October 2018. I’ve just been itching to release it ever since. This is one of my favorite songs I’ve been a part of”. “Still Ain’t You” arrives hot on the heels of his most recent release “Missing You” with Eric Nam—which has racked up over one million Spotify streams to date.
Extending his influence, he has made waves on tour around the world and in the studio with various collaborators and friends. Recently, he co-wrote and co-produced “Best of You” from Andy Grammer’s new album Naive, co-produced “Away” by Niko the Kid & Bipolar Sunshine, and co-wrote “Same Time” off the Script’s new album Sunsets & Full Moons. Steve also featured on “Runaway” by Eric Nam.
Johnstown, PA-born and Los Angeles-based Steve first caught fire in high school. His seminal remix of ZHU’s “Faded” topped the HypeMachine charts and became a mainstay on SiriusXM’s BPM. Relocating to the West Coast, he joined forces in the studio with songwriter extraordinaire Poo Bear and co-wrote and co-produced “Purpose” from Justin Bieber’s chart-dominating multi-Platinum album of the same name. Opting to drop out of high school and move West, he collaborated with Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha on the double-Platinum smash “In The Name of Love”, toured with Garrix, The Chainsmokers, and Matoma as well as produced for Little Mix, The Vamps, and Lights.
