Kyan Palmer and nicopop. deliver pop perfection with “It’s Called Branding, Sweetie”.
Today, pop powerhouses Kyan Palmer & nicopop. release their highly-anticipated collaborative album “It’s Called Branding, Sweetie”! The past year has seen the producer-songwriter duo release an array of colorful pop singles, most notably their two streaming hits “Antisocial Socialites” (3M+ streams) and “Ms. Last Night” (1M+ streams). The new album features a number of previously released singles, as well as three brand new tracks: “Usually I’m Not Like This”, “Intentions,” and “Come4U”.
“It’s Called Branding, Sweetie” demonstrates the vast and dynamic range of pop music today. Both Palmer and nicopop. push the boundaries of the pop genre, moving from groove-filled party anthems (“Ms. Last Night”), to pop ballads (“Come4U”), all the way through to fun-loving electro-pop tracks (“Antisocial Socialites”). It’s a pop aficionado’s dream album! nicopop.’s future-thinking production and Palmer’s slick pop melodies and R&B vocal stylings have made the duo a popular songwriting team outside of their own project(s). This year alone they’ve written with the likes of Monsta X, Chain Gang of 1984, The Ready Set, Wingtip, and Win & Woo, just to name a few. With more exciting announcements, songwriting cuts, and new records slated for 2020, it’s clear that nicopop. and Kyan Palmer are two young artists ready to define the future of pop sounds.
Persian-American pop artist Kyan Palmer kicked off his career behind the scenes of the music industry working as a marketing assistant at Republic Records and Roc Nation. He uploaded his debut single “Burn Mona Lisa” on a whim and much to Palmer’s surprise, the track skyrocketed up the Spotify viral charts. To date, the single has amassed over 3.5M streams, and the success of the song lead Palmer to quit his job and relocate to Los Angeles to focus on songwriting full time. In September 2018, he revealed his debut EP also titled “Burn Mona Lisa”. Known for his buoyant melodies, poignant lyricism, and silky R&B vocals, Palmer has also become an in-demand songwriter. He’s attended writing camps for stars such as PRETTYMUCH, Bhad Bhabie, Little Mix, and Monsta X, and has recently penned songs with Timeflies, MOONZz, The Ready Set, and Wingtip.
Drawing inspiration from the visual overstimulation of the early 2000’s, electronic artist, animator, and producer nicopop. is the answer to two decades of pop culture obsession. nicopop.’s effervescent pop sound is fun, danceable, addictive, and flawlessly produced. It’s old meets new; it’s y2k meets Gen Z. Since the unveiling of the nicopop. project this past summer, the praise has already been flying in from key tastemakers. With more original music on the way and writing credits on songs with Naomi Wild, Kyan Palmer and Evalyn, there is no doubt that nicopop. will soon be the quintessential sound of pop.
