The song “In Walked Love” was originally recorded by Exposé
“In Walked Love” was written by master songwriter and talkaboutpopmusic.com favourite Diane Warren, the lady behind such gems as “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now“, “Because You Loved Me” and “Unbreak My Heart”, in 1992 and recorded by little known American girl group Exposé.
The trio had been recording since 1985 and amassed eight US top ten singles including the 1987 No.1 “Seasons Change”. Outside the US, Exposé had very limited success with their 1993 release “I’ll Never Get Over You Getting Over Me” being their ‘biggest’ hit in the UK, reaching No.75!
“In Walked Love” was released in 1994 and was one of their last recordings prior to the group splitting up. It peaked at No.84 on the Billboard top 100 and No.17 on the US Adult Contemporary chart.
The song was picked up by British singer Louise (then Nurding), formerly of female quartet Eternal and released as her second solo single in March 1996. The song was produced by Simon Climie, one half of the 80’s duo Climie Fisher and it made No.17 in the UK as well as being a minor hit in parts of Europe.
But which one is the best? EXPOSE’s original or LOUISE’s cover?
