EVERY UK NUMBER ONE SONG: ‘I Feel Fine’ – The Beatles

What was the number one song in the UK on 10th December 1964?

And then The Stones were replaced with The Beatles as number one with I Feel Fine, which was number one for 5 weeks.

Did you know that The Beatles were very possibly the first band to purposefully record guitar feedback on a record? It can be heard right at the beginning of the track just before the familiar guitar riff kicks in. I Feel Fine continues it’s musical experimentation with Ringo’s R&B influenced drumming throughout the track (apart from during the bridge). It all makes for a rather excellent song. Of course. It is the Beatles after all.

Lyrics

Baby’s good to me, you know
She’s happy as can be, you know
She said so
I’m in love with her and I feel fine
Baby says she’s mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I’m in love with her and I feel fine
I’m so glad that she’s my little girl
She’s so glad, she’s telling all the world
That her baby buys her things, you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She’s in love with me and I feel fine
Baby says she’s mine, you know
She tells me all the time, you know
She said so
I’m in love with her and I feel fine
I’m so glad that she’s my little girl
She’s so glad, she’s telling all the world
That her baby buys her things, you know
He buys her diamond rings, you know
She said so
She’s in love with me and I feel fine
She’s in love with me and I feel fine, mmm
