The record is currently held by Gnarls Barkley, who, having moved from No.1 to No.2 and then No.5, disappeared completely in 2006. This was because the song was deleted by his record company, a rule that was brought in at the time stipulated that songs could only be number one for two weeks, then the record company had to stop production on more copies! This rule no longer exists.
Second place belongs to Cliff Richard, who fell to No.7 in the first week of January 2007 with his double A sider “21st Century Christmas” and “Move It”. The following week, he was gone completely. And that was Cliff at Christmas over and done with for another year!
