CSÖKE asks you to “Figure It Out”
Sydney songstress CSÖKE put out her debut single on Valentines Day 2019. “#1” arrived after years spent writing for other artists finally brought CSÖKE to her own distinctive voice. Filled with ambient beats and quirky instrumentation, “#1” kicked off as a lo-fi release which quickly gained attention and praise. Her sophomore single “Priority” channeled more of CSÖKE’s personality, as deceptively sweet vocals deliver incisive and scathing lyrics. For CSÖKE, her music attempts to captures an empowering undercurrent in a number of broader themes around gender, identity, youth and sexuality, and self-ˇempowerment as the calling card of youth culture today. CSÖKE kicks off 2020 with a stunning new single “Figure It Out”, co-written by CSÖKE and producer Divy Pota.
CSÖKE says “I’m a person who likes to meticulously plan and overthink everything. When it comes to writing, I want everything to have a strong meaning, deliberate metaphors and for my songs to have a true narrative depth, but with “Figure It Out” (only a few months after a breakup) I decided to let myself go, shut off my brain and write purely based on raw, unfiltered emotions and allow myself to say what I want without the care of being judged. The result is a song that expresses my desire to take charge and be in complete control of any situation that I find myself in especially when it comes to dating. I don’t feel the need to justify the decisions I make to anyone but me, and when I need to, I’ll figure it out”.
